As i get older, the festive season loses its colour in my spectrum.


Red packets no longer hold the same amount of significance as they used to in younger days. Blame it on how properous the economy has become - rising costs versus stagnant angbaos.


Shopping for new CNY clothes have become more of a chore than an anticipated activity. Jostling my way through the throng is not my idea of fun.


Despite the cynism, i still very much enjoy the CNY festive.


Firstly, there's the family bonding which is highly regarded in my eyes.


Then, there are the inevitable gambling sessions, which i'll prefer to refer to as 'investing my angbaos'.


However, the killer of CNY, the show-stealer, that icing on the cake, has got to be the goodies - namely, pineapple tarts. I have probably gobbled about 4 jars worth of it.


Arghhhhh... Utter randomness. Shoot me!
